Our rhubarb plant produced some very bitter fruit last year, it looked like it was about to give up.  So we put an upside down plastic dustbin over it and left it.  This is what we found when we uncovered it a few days ago – it tastes lovely. We’ve made a couple of crumbles and the rest is in the freezer

We’ve bought two more chickens, a Rhode Island Red and a Rhode Rock.  They’ve both escaped over the fence so their wings have been clipped.  I thought I had a photo of them but I can’t find it, as soon as I do I’ll upload it.

Daisy Chick usually lays medium-large size eggs.  When any of the girls lays an extra large, it’s accompanied by a lot of squawking.  When we heard this coming from Daisy, we went to have a look.  And then laughed.  Her usual egg is in the middle, her ‘loud’ egg is on the left.
